Painting Trim on Back Door

This is what our door in the back looked liked when we first moved into our home. The storm door was broken and we did not want to pay for a new one right now. Also, I need to paint all the outside doors on the house and garage, so lets just paint it...
This is what the door looked like after removing the screen door and before adding a  new light.
I then filled in all the holes, here.
I went to my local hardware store and asked the painting lady what I should use for my trim and doors. Because I have metal doors I needed a primer for metal and she said I should use Zinsser Primer for all surfaces.  For the paint, she said I should use Behr because it holds its color better after years of being in the sun (did not matter to much because I am painting white).
I cleaned the whole door frame/trim and let it dry. Then I primed the frame/trim.
You can still see where the wood was.
After one hour, I primed again.
Can not see wood as well.
Then after an hour, I painted the door.
I still need to do one more coat but after I let it dry for the 2 hours, it looked like it was going to rain. So I stopped and will do it on a not so rainy day. I plan on painting the door in September when it is not to hot and I can leave the door open to dry for a day.

Cost Breakdown:
Primer- $13
Paint- $17
TOTAL- $30

New Storm Door- $200

TOTAL SAVINGS- $170
Plus I have paint for at least two more doors.... So we could say savings of $190....
That's a lot of savings.
