Door Knob Test- Part 2

Back in July I decided to do a door knob test. The test was spray painting door knobs and see how they would hold up (Test is here). I said I would write about it in September but now it is October, oh well a little longer only makes the test better.

Outcome For Test:

The knobs held up well but the plate that is connected to the door frame got a little scratched. Over all, I think this is a budget friendly fix for a couple years. Maybe then I can replace the knobs.

Because the knob held up well, I decided to paint all the knobs upstairs. I spray painted the knobs just like I  did before and here is how they turned out.

I do not miss the gold!!!

 Living Room:
Painting the door knobs updated the doors. Now I need to try spray painting the hinges the same way. Then one day maybe re-stain the doors (not a big fan of the golden color).

NOTE: I was able to do #5 door knobs and there is still some spray paint left over.

Cost of Spray Painting Door Knobs:
Sandpaper #400- FREE (already had, I think it was $4)
Spray Paint Primer- $6
Spray Paint- $8
TOTAL- $14

Cost to replace all knobs would be $75-$100 (about $15-$20 each). Savings from spray painting knobs $61-$86.
