Lately, I have been trying to decide on pictures for our walls in our house. For the kids room I really wanted an LDS temple picture that they could see all the time. I found a Distressed Temple Picture tutorial and had to give it a try. I found a free temple picture and then got to work.
ITEMS NEEDED:
-Photo
-Paper/Printer
-Canvas
-Gel Medium
-Paint Brush
-Water
First, I printed the picture on paper (I used an ink printer, not a laser printer) but I made sure the picture was flipped. Having a helper always helps.
Take the Gel Medium and apply a layer to the canvas.
After canvas is covered, place picture upside down onto canvas and remove any bubbles.
Next let canvas dry for at least 4 hours, I let it dry overnight.
Spray water onto paper
Then peel off the paper and let it dry again.
Here is a picture of picture after it had dried, still had paper left.
So I sprayed it down with water and peeled paper off and let dry, until...
I got the photo I wanted, be careful not to remove to much paper/ink. The photo did not turn out as well as I wanted but I think it was because I used an ink printer and not the golden gel medium. I hope to try this again to see what really works the best. But for now this makes my daughter happy to have a picture of the Salt Lake Temple.
