Thinking of Christmas...

Sorry I have been a little busy sewing Teepee's lately (Thanks for the love!!!) and I am finally writing a post. So why am I thinking of Christmas in JULY, well because I (and my husband) like to do a or some homemade gifts for our kids. Which means we start thinking of ideas at least 4 months early so they can be completed by Christmas. But with all the love my shop has seen lately, I am worried I need to start my christmas gifts even earlier to make sure I complete them in time. Which is why I have been thinking of Christmas... I started looking for ideas in June and decided on a couple but still trying to decide on some.

 Here are the ideas:

For my daughter:
She likes playing games, reading, learning, and coloring. I decided to do a travel size dry-erase ABC book that she can trace her letters and name. Here are some places I got ideas from:

I plan on making an art kit with this so she can have all her drawing/art supplies in one place. But there will be one for home and one for traveling in the car.

Another thing I am going to do for her is a Hopscotch Mat, something like this:

I have my design all done for this. I will be using only cotton fabric (no felt because it does not wash well...) I plan on doing the numbers on an embroidery machine and sewing all the squares to the fabric. I will be making it like a quilt this way it can be rolled up.

For my son:
My son is starting to like cars a lot and I decided to do something a little bit bigger for him (my daughter has already got a playhouse and quiet book), so he will be getting a Car Play Mat. My grandma had one of these made with fabric paint and canvas, it was always a favorite to play with. But I will not be using paint, I will be using a embroidery machine for all the buildings and most of the design, making it washable. I will also make it like a quilt so it can be rolled up. Here is a couple pictures of some car play mats:

For both:
I am still trying to decide if I am going to do this one or not. But my kids love reading and love hanging out in their teepee. I was thinking they would like a seat or bean bag for this. I am looking at two styles and want to do something in-between. Here is the two styles:

I like the bean bag style but I like how little the other one is. I guess we will see what I will do.

But here is some of my ideas for Christmas and I have started the design for all but hopefully I can start sewing them soon. I hope everyone else has a good time decided on Christmas gifts.
